Sourdough Croutons

Ingredients


  • 1 loaf sourdough bread

  • 3–4 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp dried thyme

  • 1 tsp dried sage

  • ½ tsp garlic powder


Instructions


  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.

  2. Cut the bread into ¾–1 inch cubes.

  3. Season: Place cubes in a bowl and toss with olive oil, salt, pepper, and herbs.

  4. Bake: Spread cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet.

  5. Dry the bread: Bake 25–40 minutes, stirring halfway through, until cubes are dry and lightly golden (not crunchy).

  6. Cool completely before using for stuffing or storing.
