Looking for a healthy ice cream alternative that tastes like the real thing—but without the additives, gums, or refined sugar?
This homemade banana ice cream (a.k.a. “nice cream”) is the answer. It’s smooth, creamy, naturally sweetened, and packed with flavor—and yes, it got a 10/10 review from my husband AND kids (mom win).
Why I Love This Recipe:
Made with just 5 real, whole-food ingredients
Naturally sweetened (refined sugar-free!)
Dairy-free optional
Kid-approved
Ready in minutes using a blender or food processor
Ingredients:
4 ripe bananas, sliced and frozen
1 tbsp milk of choice (dairy or plant-based like almond or oat milk)
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
¼ cup creamy peanut butter (natural or no-stir both work)
2 tbsp honey (or maple syrup for vegan option)
Optional Toppings:
Chocolate syrup
Mini chocolate chips
Chopped nuts
Coconut flakes
Directions:
Place your frozen banana slices into a high-speed blender or food processor.
Add milk, vanilla, peanut butter, and honey.
Blend until smooth and creamy—pausing to scrape the sides as needed.
Serve immediately for soft-serve texture, or freeze for 1–2 hours if you prefer it scoopable.
Top with chocolate syrup or your favorite toppings, and enjoy!
Tip:
This peanut butter banana nice cream is a great way to use up overripe bananas. It also makes a fun and easy healthy dessert for kids—no one will guess there’s no added junk.
